What We Do

Plan of Care

You will see Dr. Pitt on your first visit and he will develop your plan of care, unless you have an issue you feel must be evaluated earlier than his next available scheduled appointment time; in which case you can see the Physician Assistant who will initiate treatment for your pain, order the necessary diagnostic studies or labs, and provide a initial treatment plan prior to your visit with Dr. Pitt. This will greatly accelerate your treatment and will provide Dr. Pitt all of the necessary diagnostic information to activate a definitive treatment algorithm specific to your needs.

What We Do

State-of-the-Art Techniques

Minimally Invasive Technology is a broad-scope description of what we can accomplish for the patient in a less invasive technique or a less invasive way. With a Minimally Invasive Surgery or minimally invasive laminectomy or decompressions, a small incision allows for less muscle stripping and muscle dissection to achieve a far less painful and shorter recovery time than the traditional open technique.

Minimally Invasive Fusion and Replacements technologies allow us to not only do a decompression, but also to provide for the patient stabilization and arthrodesis (fusion) to relieve not only leg pain but improve considerably the patient's back pain. We can perform a one-or-two level fusion through two small incisions. The surgical time is comparable to the open technique, but with far less muscle disruption, shorter recovery time, and far less pain and discomfort.

Other technologies related to back pain also include artificial disc replacement. This allows us to retain the motion segment of that injured segment of the spine in an effort to help reduce back pain. Its success rate is comparable to the gold standard spinal fusion.
